What Is Counselling?

Counselling is a term to describe any sort of talking therapy. What happens is you get to share what is troubling you in a safe supportive environment with a person who is trained to listen and respond to you in a way that helps you to understand yourself and others better.

There are many different theories in which a counsellor may be trained, and these usually reflect the counsellor’s belief in how the person/ mind/ or world works. Counselling is general considered a short term option and is useful for people whose life was going pretty ok and then something big came and knocked them off balance.
